Hi. My name is Hussein Assadi, and I am a physicist. I am interested in applying a combination of first-principles and phenomenological theoretical methods to understand and manipulate the electronic properties of functional materials.
My work is focused on magnetic, thermoelectric and electrochemical interactions in solids for various energy and environmental applications with a vision for a sustainable and more energy efficient society.
I obtained my PhD from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, UNSW in 2011. Since then I have worked at the University of Sydney, UNSW, Osaka University, and the National Institute for Materials Science exploring a diverse range of scientific problems, both academic and industrial.
